Oil consumption in M'sia dropping?
June 16, 2006 20066 5:02 pm | In Money Tips |Well, if you've looked at the recent Statistical Review of World Energy 2006 by BP, it is interesting to note that oil consumption in M'sia has actually dropped a little:
Comparing our oil consumption with our neighbours showed that we have the lowest oil consumption in the region:
Weird isn't it? Considering we have so many cars and our neighbours keep on coming to our country to get petrol for their cars.
Anyway, I'm not sure about the definition here, is it
consumption = oil used - oil produced
or just plain consumption = oil used?
Particularly worrying is Thailand's oil consumption which is growing quite rapidly even amidst the rising oil prices. I wonder how their economy is handling it, another crisis coming?
