WMDs in Lebanon
July 26, 2006 20067 9:08 am | In Thoughts | 1 CommentThese are the precision-guided bombs all the news mentioned but hardly ever showed (info via this website):
GBU-22 (based on the 500lb MK 82 bomb)

GBU-24 (based on the 2000lb Mk 84 bomb)

PB-500 (Israeli developed lightweight bunker-busting bomb)

They are supposed to be accurate up to 9m (in optimum conditions, only 1m!) and guess what, they "missed" and killed 4 UN peacekeepers! (2 confirmed at time of writing) For an idea of how powerful or accurate they can be, see this:
And now CNN reports that Israel might be using chemical weapons - phosphorous based:
and this is how they look like:
Sighz, what a sad world we're living in and the perpetrators tried to rub salt into the wounds with this:
Israel and the United States say their ultimate aim is to fundamentally reshape Lebanon to end Hezbollah's presence by the border, strengthen democracy in the country and ensure lasting peace with Israel. In the process, Lebanon has been ravaged, with hundreds killed, nearly a half-million driven from their homes and vast damage to roads and bridges.
Quoted from Newsvine. Strengthen democracy? What bullshit!
Sorry…

Shoot the Messenger
July 24, 2006 20067 6:57 pm | In Thoughts | 2 CommentsRecently, if you've been reading alot of local blogs you would have noticed that some ppl were actually shooting the messenger (so to speak) with favourite phrases like "don't just criticise, offer solutions", "why are you overseas when you claim you wanna make Malaysia better", etc. Makes me wonder why they are blasting these blogs who merely write about what they've discovered.
And then I found this article: 25 ways to supress the truth! [go here for the explanations] Read the bolded ones….

Tell me if any of the above sounded familiar?
Peak Oil again…
July 24, 2006 20067 6:28 pm | In Thoughts | 2 CommentsWell, if you're not concerned, you better be. Have a look at this pretty concise article on the views on peak oil and its effects.
Also there were some links to something funny from the Late Show with David Letterman: Top Ten Ways Dumb Guys Would Lower Gas Prices, I liked this particularly:
2. Drive really fast so you're not driving so long

How to import Outlook mail to GMail?
July 23, 2006 20067 8:43 am | In Tech | 3 CommentsI've been researching on this since I wanted to keep a copy of all the mail I received while in college and since I've graduated, they'll be removing the access to my outlook files soon. So, after much experimenting and searching, here's the tried and tested way of importing Outlook mail to GMail:
1. Open Outlook Express and Import from Outlook.
2. Open Thunderbird and Import from Outlook Express (if you skip step 1, the files can't be uploaded by gExodus for some reason)
3. Find your Personal Folder for Thunderbird to find your Mbox file which contains all the file (e.g. Inbox - note no extensions at all to the file)
4. Download gExodus and just fill in the blanks. Note that you might need to change GMail's SMTP address to gsmtp183.google.com but best to check it here.
