Honest Wife…
July 22, 2006 20067 5:53 pm | In Funny | 3 CommentsA police officer pulls over a speeding car.
The officer says, "I clocked you at 80 miles per hour, sir."
The driver says, "Gee, officer I had it on cruise control at 60, perhaps your radar gun needs calibrating."
Not looking up from her knitting the wife says: "Now don't be silly, dear, you know that this car doesn't have cruise control."
As the officer writes out the ticket, the driver looks over at his wife and growls, "Can't you please keep your mouth shut for once?"
The wife smiles demurely and says, "You should be thankful your radar detector went off when it did."
As the officer makes out the second ticket for the illegal radar detector unit, the man glowers at his wife and says through clenched teeth, "Darn it, woman, can't you keep your mouth shut?"
The officer frowns and says, "And I notice that you're not wearing your seat belt, sir. That's an automatic $75 fine."
The driver says, "Yeah, well, you see officer, I had it on, but took it off when you pulled me over so that I could get my license out of my back pocket."
The wife says, "Now, dear, you know very well that you didn't have your seat belt on. You never wear your seat belt when you're driving."
And as the police officer is writing out the third ticket the driver turns to his wife and barks, "WHY DON'T YOU PLEASE SHUT UP??"
The officer looks over at the woman and asks, "Does your husband always talk to you this way, Ma'am?"
"No, Only when he's been drinking!"
But i just need to put this up: What happens when zidane's car does not start?

Embedded YouTube problems in Opera?
July 22, 2006 20067 6:50 am | In Tech | Comments OffI believe some of you out there who're using Opera might experience an embeded YouTube video which might not load when viewing a blog once in a while. Here's how you can fix it:
From the Opera forums:
This is an example of a typical YouTube code to embed in your blog:
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uxkr4wS7XqY"></param>
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uxkr4wS7XqY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">
</embed>
</object>
The problem here can be solved by just removing the "type=" parameter in the embed tags.
Confused? Don't worry!
Thanks to FyberOptic, he created a UserJS script to fix this, just go here to download it - Link

Istish Hadiyoon
July 22, 2006 20067 4:33 am | In Money Tips | Comments OffFound a few webcomics on the Middle East issue recently, and as the word goes: a picture says a thousand words:
Istish hadiyoon (Suicide bombers) emerge out of Palestinian wounds (Israeli occupation brutality in air raids, house demolishing, checkpoint humiliation and arrests, uprooting of trees, and destruction of economic infrastructure produce suicide bombers). Amjad Rasmi, (Ad Dustour, 10/23/03). [?]
A never-ending cycle I guess until either side is wiped out completely? What a funny world we're living in…

The World Needs a Superman!

If you've been following the Israeli bombings in Lebanon, I'm pretty sure some of you will be very angered at their actions of bombing civilian infrastructures and homes, killing innocent women and children along without any sense of guilt or much after thought. Although I can't say I know the politics/issues in that region very well, is killing these many people and destroying a country without any interference from any supposedly peace-loving countries fair?

Some have said peace normally comes after a war but this "war" is a highly uneven one - imagine yourself as a normal Lebanese watching TV or maybe even blogging one night, and Israeli intelligence claims that your house has 1 low-tech unguided rocket and as a result an air strike will be planned on your house with the high precision guided bombs supplied by the US arms manufacturers. Not knowing this, you'll only know it when a bomb hits your home, probably blasting yourself into bits. Is this what we call a fair war? Killing hundreds for 2 Israeli soldiers or showing your might infront of millions of Middle-Easterners for their support for the Hezbollah?

I have no idea why I feel so strongly about this, but doesn't the world see any wrong in this? A war that's fuelled by hatred & revenge more than anything else. Sighz, the world needs a superman/woman to help solve this!
