Anti Defamation League
August 1, 2006 20068 9:21 pm | In Money Tips |While on the plane from Prague, I came upon an advert by the Anti Defamation League (ADL) in the International Herald Tribune (IHT, 31st July '06) which calls for the world to NOT call for an immediate ceasefire but quoted from Condoleeza Rice that we should be aiming for a "durable" ceasefire and even listed conditions the Hezbollah should meet before agreeing to a ceasefire. (unfortunately, I don't have the papers with me anymore, so no photos of it here =P)

Seriously, and especially after the bombings in Qana, I was kinda amazed & shocked at how anyone would publish such a thing in a well-respected paper which is widely circulated all around the world. Certainly, a "durable" ceasefire sounds nice and pretty but if we look at it humanely, this is definitely not the way to go! At the rate the discussions are going, I wonder how many times we'll see another Qana again…
