Shopfar.com are offering 12 free iTunes songs for new registrations until 13th March!

Follow these steps and you'll get your 12 free iTunes songs absolutely FREE:

1. Go to http://www.shopfar.com and register. (registration's free and you can choose to collect 'newsletters' or not)
2. Enter the promotion code DIYTUNES into the promotion code field at the end of the registration screen.
3. Then go to My Account and click on Redeem song credit… and this should take you to the codes.
4. Open up iTunes (you need to download this if you don't have one) and go to Music Store and make sure you are logged in (no need to be using the same email as your shopfar account).
5. On the left-hand side is a link - "Redeem Codes" - click this and then cut and paste the codes from shopfar. *The number of song credits remaining is displayed in iTunes towards the top right hand side.

*I've tried buying songs from all type of genres from electronica to j-pop to alternative and they all work fine. But note that you can't buy albums unless you buy them 1 by 1. Also certain orchestral/symphonic overtures are classified as an album so you can't buy that as well.

Get Amazon refund if price drops!

Interesting tip from another blog which found out that you can actually get a refund for the price difference when the price of an item you bought drops within 30 days! It's a secret though since it's not listed in their Help section:

Did you know that if the price on something you buy drops, within 30 days of your purchase date, Amazon.com will credit you the difference if you ask for it? It’s a not-advertised price drop policy that most people don’t know about and it’s saved me tons of money over the last few years. I didn’t know it was “secret” until I brought up recently and no one knew what I was talking about, so I thought I’d write a post all about how to take advantage of it. One of the great things about the drop policy is that it still works for orders where a coupon is involved or a “Buy Both and Save” deal is utilized. They only consider the individual item prices (based on the invoice) and not the final price after discounts!
