31st April Cheque?

December 4, 2008 200812 9:17 pm | In Funny, Money Laughs | Comments Off

Just watched the 2nd episode of the US version of 'Secret Millionaire', a show presenting multi millionaires going undercover experiencing life in the part of town which is not so fortunate. It's kinda heart-warming knowing there are people out there who are helping each other out. But this episode's kinda funny, all the cheques were dated 31-April-2008!

I'm not sure if it's a genuine mistake or maybe they're afraid ppl might take a screenshot of that & go cash them in the banks…what do you think?

Anyway, this makes it a cheque FAIL!!!

    Finally…finished my exams!

What better way to celebrate than to read a good joke:

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

(You need to know how "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" works . . . )

A man and his wife went to bed one night and the man was getting very frisky and asked his wife if she was in the mood.

His wife answered, "Not tonight dear I have a headache."

The man replied, "Is that your final answer"?

    She said, "Yes."

He said. "Ok, then, I'd like to phone a friend."

    lol…

  • Space Tourism by Techies!

    December 26, 2005 200512 7:55 pm | In Money Laughs | Comments Off

This is weird. What's with these 3 space programs sponsored by 3 very rich tech guys?

    1. Paul Allen's (Microsoft) SpaceshipOneLink

    2. Jeff Bezo's (Amazon) Blue OriginLink

*Picture is a speculation of what it would look like. Sources said the principle of flight is similar to NASA's Delta Clipper Experimental (DC-X) spacecraft.

    3. John Carmack's (id Software) Armadillo AerospaceLink

Is space tourism the next big thing? Will we be seeing a space boom soon pretty much like the tech boom or the biotech boom now?

From an unqualified aeronautical engineer's view (still – 6 more months to go!), space is too expensive, what we think would work are massive airships replacing sea-going freighters/cruise-ships! With control systems already worked out such that an airship can take off and land by itself, no airports needed, loiter time of months and speeds faster than a boat this seem to be a more logical step to be taken!

  • Outsourcing your Life…

    November 13, 2005 200511 5:43 pm | In Money Laughs | Comments Off

With all the news about outsourcing you hear about these days…ever wondered what would happen if you outsource your life? Wished I could do so…outsource my study time so that I can spend more time doing something else =)

It began a month ago. I was midway through "The World Is Flat," the bestseller by Tom Friedman. I like Friedman, despite his puzzling decision to wear a mustache. His book is all about how outsourcing to India and China is not just for tech support and carmakers but is poised to transform every industry in America, from law to banking to accounting. CEOs are chopping up projects and sending the lower-end tasks to strangers in cubicles ten time zones away. And it's only going to snowball; America has not yet begun to outsource.

I don't have a corporation; I don't even have an up-to-date business card. I'm a writer and editor working from home, usually in my boxer shorts or, if I'm feeling formal, my penguin-themed pajama bottoms. Then again, I think, why should Fortune 500 firms have all the fun? Why can't I join in on the biggest business trend of the new century? Why can't I outsource my low-end tasks? Why can't I outsource my life?

I'll be away for quite some time but this is a quick post which I think ppl like me should read:

A very interesting article from New York Metro about who makes how much in New York. It's not just about who earns the most but ppl from the normal walks of life too and also some quirky ones like how much a fire dog earns =)

Anyway, go there and have a look!
